Friday Field Update: Field 18

FRIDAY, AUGUST 21 — 10:30 A.M.

About an hour ago, NAGAAA announced that all games scheduled for today on Field 18 are being relocated and played at the same schedule time on Field 22. These changes will not necessarily be reflected throughout myGSWS.com, so please be alert for this change.

Like Field 18, Field 22 is located in the southern section of Berliner Park. Refer to the map of the park, linked in the menus on this page.

Masters Division Double Elim Seeds

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20 — 6:55 P.M.

Masters Division seedings have just been announced. The two teams representing Fort Lauderdale each finished with impressive 4-0 pool play records, earning them the #1 and #2 seeds headed into double elimination.

For the full list of seeds, check out this link:
Masters Division Seeds

Masters Division team pages include info on Friday game times, including field locations and opponents.

Later tonight, we’ll be adding the online bracket feature and double elim game listings. Those features will be linked into the menus at the top of the home page.

Thursday 12:30 p.m. Schedule Updates

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20 — 1:25 p.m. EDT

Approximately an hour ago, NAGAAA announced a new schedule for Thursday afternoon games, based on additional fields being returned to playable conditions. This has allowed for fewer games to be played late into Thursday night.

The newly revised schedule, first posted to NAGAAA’s Facebook page at 12:30 p.m., have now been incorporated into the myGSWS database. As of 1:20 p.m., the pages on this website properly reflect the accelerated set of games for today.

Tips For Reading The Schedule

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20 — 2:30 A.M. — One final post for the night: We wanted to confirm for you that the entire schedule for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday is now posted through the menus on myGSWS.com

In our first effort to push out information on Thursday’s early games, we initially relied on you to connect the dots between seeds, game numbers, and game times.

Now, though, we have completed creating the schedule inside the database that feeds the pages on this website. Translation: You can count on the information here to tell you when your team plays, against which opponent, and on which field.

For the B, C, and D Divisions, perhaps the best pages in the menu above that shows the whole picture are those in the “Double Elim Schedule” links.
* B Division – List of Double Elim Games

* C Division – List of Double Elim Games

* D Division – List of Double Elim Games

These links will likely give you best perspective on the length of time between games, and so on. We’ll have similar links posted for the Masters and A Divisions at the conclusion of their pool play games.

As always, if you notice any errors on your team pages, or elsewhere, please leave a comment the “Reply” section at the bottom of most pages to alert us to address the issue.

Thursday Changes: Explained

This message from NAGAAA was originally posted to the Official NAGAAA Softball page on Facebook shortly after 1:00 a.m. Thursday:

Thurs - Revised

Here it is. The REVISED THURSDAY SCHEDULE! As you read, there are a few things you should know. Here are the priorities we looked at as we made decisions:
1) We wanted to maintain every minute of every game as planned if possible.
2) We wanted to complete all Masters and A Division games early, so as to avoid as many conflicts as possible with players attending the Hall of Fame Dinner.
3) We wanted to plan a schedule for the fields we knew we could rely on (as long as it isn’t lightning) – the turf fields.
With all of those priorities, here are some things you need to be aware of:
a) There may be longer periods of time between games. Please make the most of it. You can see this as a positive situation or a negative one. Hang out. See friends. Watch great games.
b) The day will be long. Take breaks when you get them. Hydrate and rest when you can.
c) Because of a late protest in the D Division, a significant number of D Teams have changed seeds. PLEASE LOOK AT YOUR SEEDINGS AGAIN TO MAKE SURE YOU NOTICE ANY CHANGES THAT HAVE TAKEN PLACE.
d) Protest Schedules will be extended. The AM shift will go until 4pm. The PM shift will go until the end of the games.
e) Please consult your myGSWS.com Team page for specific information on your schedule, seed and location.
f) Registration will stay the same and be available at the fields beginning at 7am tomorrow.
Thank you all for your patience. It’s greatly appreciated! Let the fun begin!

D Division Seeding Changes

THURSDAY, AUGUST 20 — 12:20 A.M.

Attention D Division teams: The seeding information post at the event tonight was not accurate due to a late protest resulting in changes to the outcome of two games.

What’s reflected on myGSWS.com for the D Division seedings is accurate, based on the outcome of those protest hearings. The change impacted more than half of the D Division teams.

Pool Play Schedules Announced

SUNDAY, AUGUST 16, 2015 — 4:30 PM — Pool play schedules are now available in .pdf format. We’re working feverishly to get the customized team pages launched, but in the meantime you can determine your pool play schedules with these two documents:

Link 1: Pool Play Assignments
Link 2: Game Schedule

How do I use these documents to determine my schedule?

First, go to the document at Link 1 to determine your teams “pool play code”. The Orlando Voltage, for example, is team “BA1”.

Then, go to Link 2 to read the schedule. Where you see, for example, the game identifier as “BA12” — 7:50 a.m. Tuesday on Field #10 — this means that the participants are “BA1” and “BA2”.
